LICENSING AGREEMENT for
CODD Metadata Processor Software
The
Indian Institute of Science (IISc), the owner of the CODD Metadata
Processor( Program), acting through its faculty
member, Prof. Jayant R. Haritsa, hereby grants to the licensee, and its
subsidiaries worldwide, a nonexclusive license to use the Program for
evaluation, testing, demonstration, and porting purposes.
The
licensee can make and install a reasonable number of copies1
including backup copies of the Program to support such use. The Program
is provided
free of
charge.
IISc warrants that it is the owner of this Program, and has all
necessary rights to allow the licensee's use as described above.
Specifically, IISc has been granted copyright on the Program by the
Copyright Office, Government of India [Registration
Number SW-7063/2013 issued 10/09/2013].

written permission should be obtained from IISc.]
The
following conditions also apply:
1.
IISc does
not permit licensees to copy, distribute or display the Program,
external to their organizations. That is, IISc will be the sole public
distributor of the Program.
2.
The
licensee is permitted to port the Program to alternative licensee
platforms not already supported by the Program, and also to make minor
alterations2 to customize it for the supported or alternative
licensee platforms. In the case of porting to alternative licensee
platforms, the licensee will provide the additional porting software to
IISc, who will include it in the public distribution, with due
acknowledgement to the licensee.

alterations should not modify the primary functionalities of the
Program.]
3.
Any
significant additional functionality can be added only by IISc, or by
the licensee after receiving permission from IISc in writing. In the
latter case, the licensee will provide the additional software to IISc,
who will include it in the public distribution, with due acknowledgement
to the licensee.
4.
In any
public document of the licensee mentioning the Program, the copyright
ownership of IISc will be duly acknowledged.
5.
IISc is
providing the software in an "as-is" condition and is not liable for any
damages or consequences arising out of use of the Program.
6.
Any
modifications to the above conditions have to be separately negotiated
with IISc and permission obtained from IISc in writing for these
modifications.
